seaports in Israel still under strike

Posted on May 12, 2018 by Ifi Reporter

Work at the seaports in Ashdod and Haifa is still off, but workers may return to work in the early hours of the morning. In the National Labor Court, the matter of the strike at the ports was concluded. At the end of a hearing of more than four hours, the panel of judges decided not to publish his decision for the time being. The port administrations demanded that the heads of the committees degrade the court because they were absent from the discussions
The judges ruled that the port managements would report at 10 am on the extent of the workers' deployment to work until 10 am on the output of work. This was after the heads of the unions told the workers to return to work
Histadrut Chairman Avi Nissenkorn said during the discussion that the rule of law is above all. "This is not a question mark even when we are hurt and think that we are being led astray, even when we think that the negotiations are conducted in bad faith, the rule of law stands above everything.
According to him, we must end the ongoing negotiations. He stressed that he would insist on negotiations ending
