The percentage of those laid off in all industries in the economy climbed significantly in the first two weeks of July, to 7.6%, compared with 4.5% of those laid off in mid-June, according to a survey published today (Tuesday) by the Central Bureau of Statistics. .

The highest dismissal rate can be found in the food and beverage services industry - 13.5%, followed by construction - 10.8%. At the same time, for the first time since April, there was a decrease in the percentage of employed persons in the various industries, from 81.5% in mid-June to 79.6% in the current survey.
The data also show that the proportion of workers in the Knesset fell to 7.3% in the first two weeks of July, compared with 8.4% in mid-June - against the background of incentive programs to return workers to employment.
