The Ministry of Environmental Protection recently imposed a financial sanction on Global Roto Socket from Caesarea in the amount of NIS 1.1 million, due to the non-installation of a system for treating volatile organic compound emissions; Anomalies of volatile organic compounds in chimney samples; And failure to install and operate a system for continuous monitoring.
As part of the emission permits issued by the Ministry of Environmental Protection, Global Roto Socket, a packaging manufacturing company from Caesarea, was obliged to carry out a series of actions aimed at reducing the emission of volatile organic substances from the company's facilities. The ministry also required the company to perform sampling and install monitoring systems whose purpose is to monitor emissions of these materials from the plant.
As part of the Haifa District's inspection operations at the Ministry of Environmental Protection, which also included sampling, it was discovered that the company did not perform the required permit, and irregularities of volatile organic materials were detected in the chimney samples. This is in addition to the failure to install and operate a continuous monitoring system.
As part of the administrative enforcement process, Shlomo Katz, Haifa District Manager, sent a letter of warning to the company regarding the violations of the conditions.
The administrative enforcement process and regulatory actions led to the Company's acceleration in the procurement of an RTO emissions treatment system, which is equipped with a continuous monitoring system for emissions and which was installed in July 2019. For a prolonged period, the plant fulfilled its duty to perform the reduction and reduction of organic materials as required. The emission permit.
Due to the company's conduct and the length of proceedings, in which the company continued to emit volatile organic substances in large quantities, the Ministry of Environmental Protection decided to continue to take additional enforcement proceedings and impose a financial sanction on the company - in accordance with reduction regulations.
The Ministry of Environmental Protection will continue its determined enforcement activities and will use all the tools at its disposal to maintain public health and the environment, and prevent harm.
