Cheers to a Record? Palace Modi'in Resident Displays Israel's Largest Beer Glass Collection
Posted on Aug 16, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski
Residents of the Palace Modi'in assisted living home are raising their glasses in admiration of a unique and spirited exhibition now on display—a collection of approximately 500 beer glasses from over 40 countries around the world, curated by resident Shevah Langevitz.
Langevitz, a lifelong beer enthusiast, has been collecting beer glasses for more than 45 years, amassing what is believed to be Israel’s largest collection. His collection includes glasses from countries renowned for their brewing traditions, such as Germany, Belgium, the Czech Republic, England, the United States, France, Russia, and Japan.
To celebrate the unveiling, fellow residents gathered to enjoy the display—and, of course, to sip on some quality beer in honor of the occasion.
Yigal Oren, CEO of Palace Modi'in, praised the initiative and noted its cultural and personal significance. “In the coming days, we will examine whether there is a possibility of submitting Mr. Shevah’s extraordinary collection to the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest of its kind worldwide,” Oren said.
The exhibition not only highlights one man’s passion, but also fosters community pride and curiosity among the residents of the home. As beer lovers and collectors alike raise a toast, there may soon be international recognition for this remarkable achievement.
