information security giant Fortinet announced the completion of the acquisition of Israeli cyber company Perception Point. The scope of the deal was not disclosed. Fortinet is traded on the Nasdaq at a value of $ 74 billion.
This is Fortinet's second acquisition in Israel, after in 2019 it acquired the cyber company enSilo, which specializes in endpoint security. Even then, details of the deal were not disclosed.
Perception Point was founded in 2015 by Michael Aminov and Shlomi Levin, graduates of the Technology Unit of the Intelligence Corps. Yoram Zelinger, who served as CEO of the chip company Red Bend, joined the company as CEO. The company's products protect against attacks originating from organizations' content channels, such as email.
“This acquisition represents a pivotal moment in our mission to deliver comprehensive end-to-end cyber solutions,” Fortinet said. “By integrating Perception Point’s innovative AI capabilities, we can better protect organizations from advanced threats.”
“Perception Point is now part of Fortinet. The global power of Fortinet now supports our AI-powered security for email, browsers, and collaboration tools,” Peleg Kabra, senior product marketing manager at Perception Point, wrote in a LinkedIn post.
