Israelis purchase online during work hours, Europeans at their private time

Posted on Apr 15, 2018 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The most popular hours for online purchases in Israel are between 10:00 and 14:00 during working days. 30% of the purchases were concentrated in these four hours - the heart of the workday. According to an analysis conducted by the high-tech company Optimove, which analyzes customer activity in business. After 20:00 in the last four hours of the day, when most people are already in their homes, 15% of all purchases will be made online.

The study compared the shopping habits of sites in Israel to Europe, and found that consumers in both markets rarely buy online on weekends. Apparently because these days are used, among other things, to shop in physical stores. However, while European consumers are keen to make purchases online at the expense of their own time, especially in the evenings between 21:00 and 22:00. The Israelis prefer to devote the hours to work, especially in the evening and at night as the shopping is reduced.
According to Omer Lis, the research editor at Optimove, the study was based on 20 million acquisition deals by Israeli and European consumers in dozens of international shopping sites. The study also shows that the strongest day in online purchases in Israel is Tuesday, where 17% of purchases are made.

Optimov accompanies 300 companies and shopping sites with the intelligent management of their existing customers, using models and analysis of customer behavior characteristics. The company was founded by entrepreneur Pini Yakuel, who serves as CEO, and employs 180 people in offices in Tel Aviv, New York and London.
