The Consumer Protection and Fair Trade Authority announced that it has gone into open investigation against Apple Israel in the slowdown in surfing the iPhone. Apple Israel general manager Roni Friedman was interrogated at the ISA offices after Israeli surfers complained about the slowdown in iPhone devices.
In December 2017, Apple International admitted, for the first time, that the quality of performance was declining in old devices. Apple's announcement was made following complaints from iPhone owners around the world.
The Consumer Protection Authority suspects that Apple's response to the complaints indicates that the company allegedly assimilated a component that is causing a deliberate slowdown in the old devices. The explanatory notes presented to consumers prior to receiving the update version do not include disclosure of the information
Which relates to the alleged existence of the slowdown property
In addition, the Authority suspects that the explanatory notes presented to the owners of the instruments did not include disclosure of the information regarding the slowdown. This is a suspicion of deception, which contravenes the Consumer Protection Law. The clause in which the company is suspected is a prohibition against deception. According to the law, "a dealer shall not engage in any act or omission, in writing or orally or in any other manner, including after the date of entering into a transaction, which may mislead a consumer in any material matter in the transaction."
