Coffin Handover from Hamas via Red Cross Arrives in Israel; Forensics Pending

Posted on Nov 5, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

A coffin handed over by Hamas has arrived in Israeli territory, after being transferred from the northern Gaza Strip to Israeli forces, the Prime Minister’s Office (Israel) announced this evening (Wednesday).

The remains, claimed by Hamas to be those of a kidnapped victim, were delivered via the International Committee of the Red Cross and received by the Israel Defense Forces and Shin Bet in the Gaza Strip before crossing into Israel. They have been transferred to the National Institute for Forensic Medicine for identification.
Earlier yesterday, Hamas announced that it had located the kidnapped individual during searches in the Shuja’iya neighbourhood of Gaza City.
Additionally, the Tony Blair—former British Prime Minister and designated head of the “Peace Council” envisaged under U.S. President Donald Trump’s Gaza plan—is expected to meet today in London with relatives of kidnappers’ victims who remain in Gaza.
