Elbit's profit in 2017: $ 239 million

Elbit Systems' revenues in 2017 amounted to $ 3.4 billion, an increase of 3.6% compared to 2016. This was due to an improvement in sales of land systems, mainly as a result of the increase in sales of electronic warfare systems and systems for tanks in Europe.
The company also benefited from an increase in sales of electro-optical systems as a result of an increase in the sale of aerial intelligence systems, night vision systems in Asia-Pacific and aircraft defense systems in other geographical areas.
Sales of communications and computer systems declined due to a decrease in sales of command and control systems and unmanned systems (UAS) in Latin America.
Elbit's operating profit grew 6.7% in 2017 and totaled $ 319.3 million (9.5% of total revenues), due to a decrease in general and administrative expenses, mainly due to a revaluation of liabilities related to the acquisition of assets and activities in previous years.
In the bottom line, Elbit posted a minor increase in net profit of $ 239 million.
In the fourth quarter, Elbit recorded a 6% increase in revenue, which totaled $ 1 billion. Its operational line indicated a profit of $ 103 million, an improvement of 18.3% over the corresponding quarter in 2016. The bottom line was 3.4% growth in net profit of $ 69 million.
The company's order backlog at the end of 2017 was $ 7.6 billion, compared to $ 6.9 billion at the end of 2016. Approximately 73% of the order backlog is due to orders from customers outside of Israel, and 65% of the backlog is planned for the year and 2019.
The company, whose shares are traded in Tel Aviv and on Wall Street, has announced a dividend distribution of 44 cents per share.
