The government completes series of regulatory easements to facilitate business owners

Posted on Mar 25, 2020 by Ifi Reporter

In a telephone referendum, the government approved emergency regulations concerning the extension of validity and rejection of regulatory approval deadlines. This is in line with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's guidance to his CEO, Ronen Peretz, to work on completing a series of regulatory easements to facilitate business owners.
As part of the regulations, the two-month postponement of the bureaucratic processes expected of business owners will be given. Among other things, any existing permits, licenses and permits from authorities granted to business owners will automatically be extended for another two months. All financial penalties will also be rejected. The decision was filed with Justice Minister Amir Ohana and the Justice Ministry who assisted in a broad legislative solution.
Among the approved regulations:
• Licenses to operate a business in all local authorities will be automatically extended, both to facilitate the businesses that work while reducing manpower, and to facilitate the businesses that have been forced to close temporarily as a result.
• Licenses for running a business with the various government offices will be automatically extended. Such as: firefighting permits, the Ministry of Health, environmental protection and more.
• There is no need to renew permits for continued operations. Permits will be automatically extended for another two months.
• All import permits will be renewed automatically, without the need for a new permit, to allow the flow of goods into the economy and prevent shortages and delays.
In recent days, the Treasury and the Bank of Israel have been formulating another program of assistance to small and self-employed persons, in the amount of tens of billions of shekels.
