he Secretary-General of ITU  congratulated Israel on the successful implementation of 3G cellular phones in the Palestinian Authority

The Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Houlin Zhao, visited Israel as a guest of Minister of Communications Ayoub Kara.The Secretary-General also visited the Palestinian Authority.
The guest met with the Minister of Communications and the Ministry of Communications' professional staff for a working meeting. The Minister of Communications discussed with the guest professional issues ahead of the general assembly of the organization, which will be held in October-November this year, and the expansion of Israel's activity in the organization.
The Secretary-General congratulated Minister Kara on the cooperation in the successful implementation of 3G cellular phones in the Palestinian Authority and Generation 2 in Gaza.
 
Zhao was very interested in SME'S, small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs), a topic that the ITU places emphasis on and considers an important engine for development. He also visited two companies operating in the field in Israel.
The Secretary-General also met with President Reuven Rivlin and will hold working meetings at the Foreign Ministry and visit companies in the industry to be impressed by Israeli innovation
