Partner Communications and McDonald’s Israel Sign Major Deal to Upgrade 240 Branches to Fiber Optic Network

Posted on Jul 30, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Partner Communications Group and McDonald's Israel announced today a strategic five-year agreement to upgrade approximately 240 McDonald's branches across the country to high-speed fiber optic internet. The deal, estimated at several million shekels, marks a major technological upgrade for the global fast-food chain's Israeli operations.

As part of the project, Partner will replace the existing ADSL infrastructure in McDonald’s branches with its advanced fiber optic network. This upgrade will support the chain’s data needs, security cameras, cash registers, operational technologies (OT), and wireless connectivity for customers—ensuring faster, more stable, and secure business operations.
Secure Private Network and Cyber Resilience

A dedicated and secure IPVPN environment will be created for McDonald’s within Partner’s server farm. This centralized system will be monitored and managed using Fortinet’s All In One solution, enabling real-time analytics, centralized control, and rapid response to cyber threats.

Each McDonald's location will be equipped with an LTE-enabled router for cellular redundancy, a switch, and a wireless access unit, guaranteeing high availability and uninterrupted service even in case of network failure.

Smart, AI-Powered Network Management

This partnership builds upon Partner’s 2022 announcement of a first-of-its-kind collaboration with global cybersecurity leader Fortinet. Through this partnership, Partner offers Israeli businesses a cloud-based SD-WAN solution that combines cost-effectiveness with high-level network security and performance.

The Fortinet system employs AI and automation to manage network traffic, ensure load balancing, and proactively solve issues before they impact users. Organizations can tailor traffic policies, monitor branch performance, and apply cybersecurity rules uniformly across all sites from a central platform.

Executive Statements Highlight Strategic Value

Avi Dvora, VP of Business Clients at Partner, emphasized the company's leadership in integrated enterprise solutions:
“Partner continues to strengthen its position as a leading integration provider in Israel. We offer a comprehensive communication solution—connecting branch-level systems to the organization’s core infrastructure—eliminating the need for multiple service providers. Our certified integration teams make us the top Fortinet SD-WAN provider in Israel.”

McDonald's Israel commented on the strategic importance of the move:
“Transitioning to a nationwide fiber infrastructure is a vital step for ensuring operational continuity, robust performance, and high-level information security. Fortinet’s all-in-one monitoring and management solution provides a stable, secure, and efficiently managed digital environment. We are pleased to continue our collaboration with Partner.”

This high-profile partnership represents a significant advancement in digital infrastructure for the Israeli retail and food service sectors and sets a new standard for enterprise connectivity in the country.
