Bank Hapoalim tries to settle suspicion it assisted american to evade taxes

Bank Hapoalim will increase the amount it will set aside in its financial statements by two hundred and fifty-eight million shekels following suspicions that it helped its American clients to evade tax from the US authorities
Our correspondent, Liel Kaiser, said that the bank has been negotiating a settlement with the American authorities for a long time. The Bank clarified that no agreement has yet been reached between the parties. However, Bank Hapoalim reported that it believes that its exposure to the US authorities has increased. The amount the bank had set aside to handle the affair amounted to NIS 1,199 billion
