The Investment Authority and the Ministry of Construction and Housing approved grants totaling NIS 29 million for the purchase of advanced construction equipment and industrial construction. Approximately NIS 15 million will be invested in advanced construction equipment and the construction of 1,473 apartments in industrial construction.
The Ministry of Economy and Industry Investment Authority, in collaboration with the Ministry of Construction and Housing, helps entrepreneurs, contractors and construction companies, through two aid routes designed to encourage the transition from conventional construction to advanced construction, and to increase the use of industrial construction methods.
The level of industrialization in the construction industry in Israel is about 30% lower than the average in the OECD countries, and one of the main reasons is the relatively high cost of purchasing and maintaining industrial construction equipment, which discourages contractors from moving to this construction method, which includes a wide range of advanced technologies.
In 2019, approximately 40 applications were submitted under the two aid routes, of which 20 applications were approved. Minister of Economy and Industry, Eli Cohen: "Construction industrialization is an important step to increase productivity in the industry and to reduce the length of construction time using advanced industrialization and technologies. This move is another step in addressing the housing shortage. "
