Israeli Defense Industry Strengthens Amid Embargo: CPC Launches Advanced Command System
Posted on Jul 16, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski
As the war dubbed "Iron Swords" continues and foreign companies impose embargoes on supplying systems and raw materials to Israel’s defense sector, a significant shift is taking place within the Israeli military-industrial complex. Projects worth tens of millions of dollars are being redirected to local manufacturers, boosting domestic defense production capabilities.
Rotem Haimzon, CEO of CPC Solutions — one of Israel’s leading developers of advanced electronic systems — says this trend offers an important lesson for the future.
“The State of Israel must understand the strategic importance of local production for the defense industry,” Haimzon said.
“We cannot remain dependent on foreign entities that may impose sanctions or embargoes during times of conflict.”
Shift in Production Strategy
Since October 7, 2023, the start of the current conflict in Gaza and Lebanon, several international companies have opted not to supply components or collaborate with Israeli defense firms. In response, the Ministry of Defense has transferred several key projects — previously reliant on foreign production — to Israeli companies, including CPC.
The shift is seen not only as a response to supply constraints but also as a strategic effort to enhance national security autonomy.
CPC Unveils "Bat System" for Combat Platforms
Amid this reshuffling of priorities, CPC launched a new smart, multi-functional command and control system known as the “Bat System.” Designed for military vehicles, drone control stations, and observation posts, the system features full cyber protection and a real-time operational picture for tactical units in the field.
The Bat System integrates:
-
Advanced data processing units
-
Simple and intuitive user interfaces
-
Simultaneous control of multiple platforms
Crucially, the system is engineered to operate under extreme environmental conditions, from -40°C to 80°C, and has been successfully field-tested in combat simulations.
A Pillar of the Domestic Defense Industry
Founded in 1984 by industrialist Dov Harpaz, CPC Solutions has become one of the most established electronics developers in Israel’s defense sector. The company operates two major development and production facilities in Yokneam and Karmiel, offering a unique full-spectrum capability — from design and development to production — all under one roof.
“Our end-to-end solutions give Israel's defense system unmatched flexibility and reliability, especially in times of geopolitical uncertainty,” said Haimzon.
National Lesson: Invest in Local Defense Manufacturing
As the Israeli defense system grapples with international pushback, government and industry officials are calling for a long-term policy shift.
“This war has made it clear that critical military technologies must be produced at home,” Haimzon concluded.
“Only by reducing dependency on foreign suppliers can we ensure our strategic resilience.”
CPC’s rapid response and innovation highlight the broader push by Israeli defense companies to adapt quickly, maintain technological superiority, and secure operational independence in an increasingly hostile global environment.
