West Pharmaceutical opens office in Israel

West a global leader in innovative solutions for injectable drug administration, today officially opened the Company’s new office in Ra’anana, Israel. This new office location has combined two previous West sites together to promote further collaboration and synergies between the teams.

Israel serves as one of several regional technology hubs of expertise for West along with Ireland, Germany, Singapore, and the United States. The Ra’anana office is not only a global Innovation and Technology (I&T) center of excellence for Drug Delivery and Administration Devices, but also works across the entire product lifecycle from concept to the patient, including product development, engineering, operations, order fulfillment, and regulatory filings. The 2,750 square meters of open space and offices currently houses approximately 95 employees.

“We are very excited about our new office in Ra’anana, as it has allowed us to join our innovation teams for drug delivery and administration systems under one location,” said Jacob Weiser, Vice President and General Manager of West’s Israel operations. “I am delighted to see all of our engineers working together side by side, combining their expertise and new ideas to create further innovations to our current packaging systems and devices, ultimately helping to improve patients’ lives.”

The team in Israel develops and manufactures many well-known West products including the Vial2Bag® Admixture systems, the MixJect® reconstitution system, Intradermal Adapter product family, Mix2Vial® needle-free reconstitution and transfer system, and the SmartDose® drug delivery platform, which was launched with commercial success in 2016. Co-locating the I&T centers with commercial and operations enables Wests to be more effective and customer centric by facilitating technology transfer and new product development across the packaging, containment and delivery platforms.
