Apple's new streaming service, Apple TV Plus, featuring original content in the company's production, has been launched in over 100 countries today, and is also available in Israel. The launch of the service is part of a broader move by the technology giant that is trying to diversify its revenues as a result of the decline in iPhone sales, and is developing the services sector.
The service in Israel is offered with Hebrew subtitles, at a cost of about NIS 18 per month, after the first week of free trial. In addition, Apple offers the full one-year free service as a benefit to the company's new purchasers of devices such as iPhones, iPads and Macs. Each subscription can be shared among six family members.
As the service launches, it will offer nine new series, including the flagship program The Morning Show, a drama starring Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon and Steve Carl. Apple is reportedly investing $ 6 billion in content production, but is offering a much smaller content library than Netflix, or Disney, to launch its streaming service, Disney Plus, next week.
The content is available for viewing through the Apple TV app on various Apple devices, but also on other devices from competing companies such as Amazon Fire TV. In addition, the content is also available for viewing online on tv.apple.com.
