Former Shin Bet Chief Yaakov Perry Implicated in International Child Abduction Case in Germany

Posted on Sep 6, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

The name of the head of the Shin Bet and former Minister of Science and Technology, Jacob Perry (81), has come up in a serious criminal case in Germany, the German newspaper Bild reported today (Saturday).

As part of the case, Perry's involvement in the kidnapping of businesswoman Christina Block's children from their father's home in Denmark to their mother in Germany is being investigated. Block, who is suspected of ordering the kidnapping, is the heiress of a huge chain of steakhouses in Germany, and her fortune is estimated at hundreds of millions of euros. According to the suspicion, Block and her partner, a famous sports journalist, hired the Israeli company in 2023 for the kidnapping. The report states that during a trial currently underway in Hamburg, it is alleged that the former head of the German Federal Intelligence Service (the equivalent of the Israeli Mossad), August Henning, contacted Perry last year on Block's behalf, asking him to organize a group to kidnap her children from their father, who claims that their stay with their mother is dangerous for them. Henning He denied involvement in the case, telling the newspaper that he had never contacted Perry.
According to reports in Germany, the kidnappers beat the father and kidnapped his son and daughter, aged 10 and 13, into the forest. They then reportedly crossed a stream with them and put them in a car. The children's mouths were taped shut and one of them was tied up. It was also alleged that the kidnappers threatened the children to be quiet or they would be killed. It was also alleged that one of the kidnappers was an Israeli who was arrested in Cyprus and extradited to Germany, where he is currently on trial. Two other Israelis suspected of involvement in the case have fled Germany. Bild reported that Perry told the German court that if he was guaranteed confidentiality, he would agree to testify about Henning's part in the case. During the trial, the father's lawyer asked Block if she knew Perry's name, and she remained silent.
The allegation of Perry's involvement was made by former German intelligence agent Werner Maus. According to a report in Der Spiegel, Perry's involvement was allegedly carried out in his role as president of the business intelligence firm CGI Group. The company's CEO, Zvika Naveh, denied the allegations of the company's involvement.
