1,800 workers from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will stop providing ministry services on Wednesday, due to the Ministry's announcement of a dramatic cut of 80% in the overtime quota and in their budgets. As a result of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development's announcement of a dramatic 80% cut in the quota of overtime approved for employees and the budget of the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs, the Histadrut decided to take organizational measures and fight against the decree, which has direct implications for the earning ability of the workers. As a first step, the workers will cease all activities and services they provide from tomorrow, Wednesday, June 5, 19, and until Thursday, 6.6.19.
All 1,800 employees of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development will take part in the steps: veterinary services, plant protection, plant and animal control, the Volcani Institute, etc. The following services will not be provided as part of the sanctions: import and export of agricultural agricultural products , Issuance of import licenses for agricultural produce, entry and exit of animal products to and from Israel, issuance of fishing licenses, and more.
In order to prevent causing harm to animals, the workers' committee of the Ministry contacted the management in advance to take appropriate measures.
The chairman of the Agriculture Ministry's workers' committee, Eyal Levy, said: "We are embarking on a struggle for our livelihood and for our families, which are robbed of us unilaterally.
