MAN Israel Unveils New D30 Truck Generation with Advanced 13-Liter Engine
Posted on Jun 27, 2026 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

MAN Truck & Bus Israel has introduced the new generation of MAN D30 heavy-duty trucks, featuring an advanced 13-liter engine designed to deliver significantly improved fuel efficiency, lower emissions, and enhanced operational performance for commercial fleets.
At the heart of the new platform is the D3066 inline six-cylinder diesel engine, engineered to achieve a thermal efficiency exceeding 50%—a milestone considered one of the most significant engineering achievements in the heavy-duty trucking industry.
Thermal Efficiency into Lower Fuel Consumption
The D30 engine delivers a fuel consumption rate of approximately 169 grams per kilowatt-hour (g/kWh), reflecting highly efficient energy conversion.
According to the company, the engine has been designed to extract more usable power from every liter of diesel fuel while reducing operating costs for fleet operators.
The new powertrain is paired with an intelligent automated transmission that continuously adapts gear selection to changing road conditions, helping optimize engine performance and fuel economy.
Smart Transmission Optimizes Every Journey
The transmission management system automatically adjusts vehicle operation according to driving conditions.
During highway cruising, for example, the system minimizes engine load, allowing the truck to operate at optimal efficiency while maintaining performance.
This adaptive drivetrain is intended to reduce fuel consumption without compromising vehicle productivity or driving comfort.
Real-World Tests Show Fuel Savings
According to MAN, extensive road testing across Europe demonstrated fuel savings of between 4% and 5% compared with previous-generation models.
For commercial transport companies operating vehicles over long distances, the improvement could translate into substantial annual reductions in fuel costs across an entire fleet.
The company notes that lower fuel consumption also contributes to reduced total cost of ownership.
Lower Emissions Support Sustainability Goals
Beyond economic benefits, the new D30 platform is designed to reduce environmental impact.
Lower diesel consumption results in reduced carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions, while the trucks are equipped with advanced exhaust after-treatment technology intended to minimize pollutant emissions and comply with modern environmental standards.
The company says the new generation supports transport operators seeking to improve both operational efficiency and sustainability.
CEO Highlights Innovation Strategy
Noam Padida Dor, CEO of MAN Israel, part of Makhshירי Tnua Group, said the launch reflects the company's commitment to bringing advanced transportation technologies to the Israeli market.
"We are proud to be at the forefront of innovation in the transportation sector and to provide Israeli companies with some of the world's most advanced transport solutions. The combination of breakthrough technology, reliability, and high performance—together with our professional nationwide service network—provides customers with maximum efficiency, high vehicle availability, and an optimal operating environment," Padida Dor said.
Focus on Fleet Productivity
With the launch of the D30 generation, MAN aims to strengthen its position in the heavy commercial vehicle market by offering transport operators a combination of fuel efficiency, advanced engineering, reduced emissions, and long-term operating savings—key factors as the logistics industry increasingly prioritizes cost efficiency and environmental performance.
