Posted on Apr 22, 2026 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Residents of the Palace senior living facility in Rishon LeZion have launched a volunteer initiative to prepare grilled meals for Israeli soldiers, setting up a dedicated barbecue compound at the Maccabim Junction.
As part of the effort, residents established four fully equipped grilling stations to prepare fresh meals for soldiers passing through the area. The initiative is one of several grassroots efforts across the country aimed at supporting troops during ongoing military operations.
“A Way to Say Thank You”
Tal Amit, CEO of Palace Rishon LeZion, said the project reflects the residents’ desire to show appreciation and solidarity with the soldiers.
“This is another activity by our residents to express their love for IDF soldiers and to say thank you,” Amit said.
Part of Broader Civilian Support Effort
The initiative highlights the role of civilian communities, including senior citizens, in contributing to the national effort during wartime, offering both practical support and a morale boost to soldiers in the field.
