Posted on Jan 22, 2026 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Approximately 15 officer course cadets from the 1st Battalion were hosted this week by Palace Tel Aviv Senior Living, part of the Azrieli Group, for an intergenerational meeting with residents of the senior living community.
During the visit, the cadets received an introduction to daily life in a senior living home and broader aspects of aging, while assisting residents with hands-on guidance in operating mobile phones, laptops and computers.
The program also included a leadership lecture delivered by Lt. Col. (res.) Nissim Habib, who shared insights from his military experience. Michal Hoderland, Director of Palace Tel Aviv, addressed the cadets on the importance of quality of life in senior living communities and the values that guide their care.
The officers were hosted for breakfast and lunch in the VIP dining room, concluding a full day of learning and engagement.
One of the participating cadets described the visit as a meaningful experience:
“We left the meetings with the residents with a strong sense of purpose and a deeper understanding of life in old age.”
