In response to an attack launched by Iran, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has announced significant changes to directives issued by the Home Front

In response to an attack launched by Iran, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) has announced significant changes to directives issued by the Home Front Command. Last night, IDF spokesman Brigadier General Daniel Hagari disclosed that educational activities will be banned throughout the country, and gatherings will be limited to a maximum of 1,000 people in green areas.

The new measures extend to educational frameworks for evacuees as well. Kindergartens and schools catering to kindergarten through 3rd grade students, summer camps for 4th through 6th graders, and youth centers for 7th through 12th graders operating in the afternoon and evening hours will be suspended.

Furthermore, the Ministry of Labor has declared the closure of certain institutions, including technological colleges supervised by the Ministry's Technological Government Institute, adult training institutions, and vocational schools. Despite the Passover holiday, any scheduled special activities at these institutions have been cancelled.

To address the impact on working parents, the Ministry of Labor has invoked a law for the protection of workers during emergencies. Parents of children under 14 (and parents of children with disabilities under 21) who remain at home due to the closure of educational institutions, camps, and after-school programs should not face termination until directives from the Home Front Command change. Working from home, where possible, is encouraged. Compensation for parents unable to work due to these circumstances is yet to be determined.

Additionally, the Community Centers Association has announced the suspension of Passover activities in hundreds of community centers across the country. This includes the cancellation of Passover camps and activities for children and youth, early childhood settings, special education programs, summer camps, after-school programs, holiday schools, and various social and recreational activities. However, other cultural and leisure activities will proceed in accordance with published gathering restrictions, subject to the discretion of community center managers and local authorities.

As tensions escalate following the Iranian attack, Israel remains vigilant in implementing measures to ensure the safety and well-being of its citizens.
