Ben & Jerry's Israel to Invest NIS 130 Million in State-of-the-Art Factory in Kiryat Gat

In a strategic move to expand its operations and bring cutting-edge innovations to the Israeli food industry, Ben & Jerry's Israel has announced plans to establish a new factory in the emerging industrial area of Kiryat Gat. The estimated investment for this venture is approximately NIS 130 million. Currently located in the Be'er Tuvia industrial area, the existing factory spans an area of 10 dunams, but the forthcoming facility in Kiryat Gat will cover about 20 dunams.

The new Ben & Jerry's Israel factory is slated to open its doors in 2026, boasting innovative production lines equipped with advanced technologies. The company aims to diversify its product offerings, venturing into the production of tylons, slagoons, and cassettes. In addition to the manufacturing facilities, the new site will house a groundbreaking visitor center—the first of its kind in Israel—a flagship Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream store, and a state-of-the-art logistics center in the food industry.

Currently holding a significant share of approximately 50% in the family package market in Israel, Ben & Jerry's Israel anticipates that the new factory will enable them to introduce novel offerings in the ice cream and snacks category. The expansion also includes plans to grow the bakery division of the Brunz & Crantz brand, introducing products such as Parzel, Belgian waffles, Blinches, and more.

Avi Singer, the owner and CEO of Ben & Jerry's Israel, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "We are a blue and white factory that employs about 200 workers from the south of the country and supports farmers who produce milk, eggs, and other raw materials. In the new plant, we will bring significant innovations in the food sector and increase our market share." Singer emphasized the company's commitment to community and social initiatives in Kiryat Gat, working in collaboration with relevant municipal authorities.

Aviram Dehari, the Mayor of Kiryat Gat, expressed satisfaction with Ben & Jerry's choice to establish one of the most modern ice cream and food production factories in the city. The new factory is currently in the process of submitting construction plans and aims to complete the building by 2026. The facility will include a modern visitor center, aligning with the industrial tourism initiative led by the municipal society of Kiryat Gat.
