El Al lost $ 32 million in the fourth quarter and $ 52 million for 2018

El Al published its financial statements for the fourth quarter of 2018 and for the full year. The company lost $ 32 million in the fourth quarter and $ 52 million for the year as a result of rising oil prices and aircraft and charter leases.
The company also reported a 3.7% drop in fourth-quarter revenues to $ 439 million, compared to $ 512 million in the corresponding quarter of 2017. In 2017, the company concluded a particularly negative trend: its annual profit was cut by more than 90% to $ 5.7 million.
In the whole of 2018, revenues grew by 2.1% to $ 2.14 billion, compared with revenues in 2017. In the third quarter of the year, the airline concluded a negative trend, with a 15% drop in its net profit, which totaled $ 42 million. In the third quarter, El Al increased its revenues by 2% to $ 642 million, but showed erosion in both gross and operating profit.
