Thai Internet giant 7Eleven is looking for Israeli technologies

Thai Internet giant 7Eleven business delegation of Cpall, which operates the chain's 12,000 stores came
for a visit in Israel. CPall is the largest B2C company in Thailand, worth $ 25 billion. The company is a subsidiary of CP, a conglomerate with 300 subsidiaries, in the fields of retail, food, automation and finance. In addition to the 7Eleven chain, the company also has a chain of supermarkets in Makro, a $ 6 billion network that operates about 100 giant branches in Thailand.
For some time now, the chain of supermarkets has been planning to promote additional business models that will generate revenue besides the retail business. The broad network deployment, which reaches every point in Thailand due to its franchise model, opens up interesting opportunities for the company to enter markets that are gaining momentum in the country.
One of the models chosen by the company is Telemedicine. Thailand has a world-class reputation for health care. The country employs qualified international doctors and in the leading private hospitals, an average patient can enjoy good medicine under the conditions of a five-star hotel and the "prices of Thailand". However, this medicine is not accessible to every citizen and there are many areas in Thailand where medicine is not accessible. Therefore, the company plans to establish telemedicine clinics in the chain's branches, which will enable customers to receive initial diagnosis and an immediate prescription for the purchase of drugs in the store.
Another area in which the company will focus is Retail-Tech, an area in which Israel has created an innovative and advanced reputation for itself. Self-checkout technologies, E-Commerce and rack monitoring are just some of the technologies the Thai company deserves to explore in Israel.
The delegation that is visiting Israel this week is headed by Dr. Anuruck Watanathawornwong, Chief Executive Officer of the company, which is responsible for planning, growth and assimilation of the new business models of the chain in the coming years. During his three-day visit to Israel, he will meet and meet some 20 innovative companies that will help the chain grow into new channels in the coming years.
Dagan Aloni, Commercial Attaché of the Ministry of Economy and Industry in Thailand, said: "This is CPall's first visit to Israel, and we are pleased that after intensive work we succeeded in bringing decision makers to three full days in Israel to meet Israeli companies targeting the markets. In the east, we continue to open doors to Israeli companies and ensure that business visits of this kind will be a continuation of the promotion of Israeli industry in Thailand. "
According to the Foreign Trade Administration of the Ministry of Economy, total trade in goods with Thailand in 2018 was $ 920 million, of which $ 380 million was export and $ 540 million was imports.
