Space il: we will land a spacecraft on the moon - this year

The non-profit organization SAPACE IL continues to promote the project of landing a blue-and-white spacecraft on the Moon in 2018, with full vigor while meeting its goa, making Israel the fourth country in the world to successfully land a spacecraft on the moon.
.The project led by SPACE IL has become a national and educational project of immense importance, which presents a complex technological challenge with tremendous significance to the Israeli space industry and to prove Israel's technological superiority.

The Google Lunar XPRIZE competition was launched about a decade ago as the first private venture to reach the moon. The competition will end at the end of March, after Tuesday's announcement of the end of the contest was announced without a winner, in light of the fact that none of the groups that reached the finals did not meet the timetables set by the organizers. In January 2017, SpaceIL qualified for the final stage of the competition and remained as a finalist alongside four other contenders: Team Indus of India, Team Hakuto of Japan, Moon Express of America and Synergy Moon of Multinational. In this way, Israel has become closer to joining the prestigious circle of the three superpowers that have managed to reach the moon: the United States, the former Soviet Union and China. The Israeli team is the most advanced in the race to land a spacecraft on the moon and the only one with a launch date is certainly until the end of 2018.
The XPRIZE Foundation, which runs the competition, said in its announcement: "Despite the end of the competition, several ways are being considered to continue the competition." Finding a new title sponsor to provide a prize purse following the footsteps of Google's generosity

The spacecraft is in advanced stages, and recently the tests of the propulsion system of the spacecraft developed by the IAI have been successfully completed
