American Tech Giant Cisco Offers Financial Support to Employees in Israel Amid Ongoing Conflict

Posted on Oct 15, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Amidst the ongoing conflict in Israel, several companies are stepping up to support their employees, and one notable example is the American technology giant, Cisco. With approximately 800 employees based in Israel, Cisco has decided to provide a one-time, personal grant to its workforce in the region.

In a heartfelt letter sent to their employees, Cisco expressed their understanding of the financial hardships they are facing during these tumultuous times and extended a helping hand. The letter stated, "We are aware of the financial difficulties you are going through these days and want to help you. We will give each employee a one-time grant of NIS 9,500 for each use, and the company will provide a grant of NIS 19,000 to the employees serving in the reserves these days."

The grants, totaling NIS 9,500 for regular employees and NIS 19,000 for those serving in the reserves, will be disbursed by the company to its employees in Israel throughout the remainder of October. This financial assistance serves as a testament to Cisco's commitment to supporting its workforce during challenging times.

In a touching gesture, Cisco went a step further by encouraging its employees in Israel who may not require the grant to consider donating it to a cause that resonates with them. This move reflects the company's ethos of giving back to the community and standing in solidarity with the people of Israel during a time of crisis.

As the conflict continues to unfold, Cisco's benevolent initiative underscores the importance of corporate social responsibility and the role that businesses can play in supporting their employees and the wider community during difficult moments in history.
