Public College Heads Align School Year Start Date with Security Agenda
Posted on Oct 9, 2023 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski
The Board of Heads of Public Colleges (VRAM) has announced a significant change to the start date of the school year. The decision comes in response to recent security incidents, and it reflects a commitment to ensuring a secure learning environment for all.
Originally scheduled to commence on its regular date, the VRAM, which represents the interests of public colleges across the region, has chosen to adjust the school year's commencement date. This change follows a similar decision made by the heads of universities, who postponed the start of their academic year to October 22.
In a joint statement, the Board of College Heads conveyed their concerns and dedication to safeguarding the educational community: "The Public College Heads' Forum bows its head in view of the security incidents and is working to align the opening of the school year with the security agenda. Together, we will wish for quieter and better days."
This decision underscores the paramount importance of safety and security in the region's educational institutions. The VRAM's decision to delay the start of the school year reflects their commitment to ensuring a secure and conducive learning environment for students, faculty, and staff alike. As the community comes together to address these challenges, everyone involved looks forward to a time when peace and stability prevail once more.
