Audiocodes Reports Significant Profit Improvement in Q2 2023 Amid Streamlining Measures

Audiocodes, a leading provider of web-based voice communication solutions, access gateways, and media processing solutions, has announced a remarkable rebound in profitability during the second quarter of 2023.

Under the stewardship of Saturn Adlersberg, the company reported a significant profit of $1 million, translating to 3 cents per share, based on the generally accepted accounting rules in the US (US GAAP). This performance marked a substantial improvement compared to the disappointing results from the first quarter of 2023, where the company faced a loss of $200,000.

Audiocodes' financial resurgence in Q2 2023 was driven by a series of streamlining measures and a return to growth in collaboration with tech giant Microsoft. The company's partnership with Microsoft resulted in a remarkable 12% revenue increase compared to the corresponding quarter in 2022 and an impressive 16% growth when compared to Q1 2023. The recovery in revenues, amounting to $60 million, represents a 1.4% rise from the previous quarter but a 12% decrease compared to the same period in 2022, slightly falling short of the average analyst forecast by 0.8%.

Saturn Adlersberg's strategic efforts enabled Audiocodes to outperform analysts' expectations on a non-GAAP basis. Excluding expenses related to options allocation and the impact of the shekel-dollar exchange rate on payment obligations rent, the company achieved $5 million in profit, equivalent to 16 cents per share. This non-GAAP profit, though 55% lower than the corresponding quarter in 2022, represented a substantial 90% increase from Q1 2023.
