The Small and Medium Enterprises Agency in the Ministry of Economy approved assistance to 12 social businesses this week, totaling NIS 2.2 million shekel.
The assistance is given to social businesses employing preferred populations, including youth and women at risk, and people with disabilities
The program, which began as a pilot two years ago, was built in accordance with the decisions of the plenum of the round table, headed by the prime minister, in cooperation with the business sectors and the third.
The purpose of the aid is to enable the social business to cope with the high costs required to employ surplus populations, in order to increase the survival of these businesses, assist them in their development and in realizing the social goal. It should be noted that the preferred populations for the purpose defined by the plenum are persons with disabilities, youth and youth at risk, discharged prisoners, and more.
Ran kivitti, Director of the Agency for Small and Medium Enterprises, said: "In recent years, we have witnessed a growing phenomenon of businesses looking at extra profit, not profit, but social profit for various purposes. We are pleased with the demand and responsiveness to the program and are confident that the integration of special populations will contribute to the economy, the economy and above all to the small businesses themselves.
