The Histadrut and Rafael Advanced Defense Systems signed yesterday an agreement to hire 400 contract workers employed by the company for direct employment as Rafael employees. This is a significant increase in the number of employees who will be hired as company employees, compared with the 150 workers agreed upon in the collective agreement signed in 2016. In addition, According to the new agreement, the workers will be hired at Rafael until December 31, 2022, with a yearly absorption rate.
Negotiations on this agreement were led by Histadrut Chairman Avi Nissenkorn, Histadrut Chairman in the Haifa Region Moshe Mizrahi, and Chairman of the Institute of Practical Engineers Rafael Eyal, who is responsible for the matter on behalf of the Histadrut.
It was also agreed in the framework of the new agreement that the welfare budget that the company will allocate to employees each year will be NIS 2.5 million.
Histadrut Chairman Avi Nissenkorn congratulated the parties and said: "The agreement is another important step in reducing the phenomenon of contractor workers, and recognizes the importance and contribution of all employees to the development and prosperity of the company. The hiring of contract workers for direct employment reinforces the sense of belonging among the workers and helps to increase equality and narrow the gaps in society. "
