The Ministry of Transportation and the "Dan" company launched an experiment that allows paying for a single trip using a credit card

The Ministry of Transportation and the "Dan" company launched an experiment today (Sunday) that allows paying for a single trip using a credit card, smart phone and smart watch. "The move is intended to bring public transportation closer to new audiences, mainly tourists and occasional passengers on public transportation, who do not own Ravko or a dedicated public transportation payment app,".
The payment will be made using a contcactless supporting credit card approximation (bearing a symbol similar to Wi-Fi), in the payment applications (Apple Pay, Google Pay and the applications of the credit card companies). The application will be implemented within a month in the entire bus fleet of the "Dan" company in the center of the country, and payment by credit will be possible with any updated validation device.
However, in contrast to paying with multiple lines and profiles in the various transportation apps, the direct payment by credit is for a single city trip only, at full price (NIS 5.5). The direct payment by credit does not entitle you to free passage for 90 minutes, and does not grant profile discounts (youth, senior citizen, National Insurance claimant, etc.).
The Ministry of Transportation stated that "the new application is the result of a successful collaboration between the Dan company and the National Public Transportation Authority in the Ministry of Transportation, as part of the 'Derech Shaveh' reform. The MAX company was chosen by "Dan" as the clearance provider and developed fast clearance for the bus terminals. The office is gradually operating for the implementation of the service in public transportation all over the country."
"The future is already here," said Minister of Transportation and Road Safety Merav Michaeli. |I am happy and excited to inaugurate another significant breakthrough for public transportation in Israel, you don't need another rabbi to pay for the bus ride, you can just get on with your credit card or phone and pay, that simple and that progressive."
The Director General of the Ministry of Transportation and Road Safety, Michal Frank, said that "it has never been easier to get on the bus. Payment in TAP is made possible thanks to the 'equal way' revolution, to unify dozens of different rates that were an obstacle to the launch of advanced payment technologies. We are bringing public transportation closer to more audiences, and are working to expand the service to the entire country."
