The DayTwo company, which develops technologies and products to improve the health of people dealing with diabetes and metabolic diseases, is laying off dozens of its employees in Israel and the United States. The company currently employs 150 people, half of them in Israel and half in the United States.
DayTwo was established in 2015, and since then has raised investments totaling $85 million. DayTwo's first product, which serves over 70,000 users in Israel and the United States, is based on groundbreaking research and technology developed at the Weizmann Institute. The product is based on the use of artificial intelligence, DNA sequencing of the intestinal bacteria (microbiome), medical information and personal behavioral information to personally adjust the nutrition (precision nutrition) to each user in order to balance the blood sugar levels after the meal.
The company stated: "Due to the worsening macroeconomic environment, which leads to global organizational changes, the company intends to focus its efforts on the American and its main target market, according to the original work plan. Therefore, we are forced to change the structure of the activity and say goodbye to some of the valuable and talented people we were privileged to work with. As part of the focus on the market American, the company will continue to support its customers, including the insurance companies from the four largest insurance corporations in the United States and Fortune 500 companies. DayTwo continues to invest in R&D, marketing and sales activities."
