The prices of the controlled milk products are increasing by 4.9%, this is in accordance with the agreement signed between the Ministries of Finance and Agriculture and dairy farmers and dairies last June.
Let's recall that about six months ago, the Price Committee recommended raising the prices of dairy products under supervision by 6.5%. According to the agreement with the dairy farmers and the dairies, this increase in price was split into two installments: the first as mentioned today, and the second will take place in November 2023, at a rate of 1.6%. In addition, the agreement freezes prices until May 2023, but after that the dairies will be able to demand an additional price increase, which is estimated to be about 9%, in view of the increase in raw milk prices. The price increase includes milk, yellow cheese by weight, white cheese, sweet cream and acid, Eshel and Gil. On the other hand, the agreement also includes the cancellation of tariffs on cheeses for spreading, mozzarella, halloumi, jamid and gorgonzola, which should lead to their reduction. According to the estimates, Tnuva was expected to raise the prices of non-supervised milk products on that occasion as well, but in view of the retailers' opposition to price increases by various suppliers, including Hogwal, the dairy may refrain from this step at this stage.
