At the 9th Israel Conference on Infrastructure and Industry held today in Tel Aviv in the presence of the Minister of Energy Ms. Karin Elharer, the Minister of Economy and Industry Ms. Orna Barbibai, and Minister of Transportation Merav Michaeli presented the company "EV Motors" and Co. "Gensel" the first development of its kind in Israel - a hydrogen-based hybrid charging station for an electric vehicle without connection to the electricity grid.
The companies "Jensen" and "EV Motors" have developed charging stations that will be spread along traffic routes in Israel, and later around the world. The production of electricity for the charging stations is made possible thanks to the advanced technology developed by the "Gensel" company, which enables the production of electricity from hydrogen with zero carbon emissions, providing 100% green electricity.
Ohad Seligman, chairman of EV Motors, and Rami Reshef, CEO of Gensel, stated at the conference that the hybrid electric vehicle charging station is a reliable, green and efficient solution in one of the fastest growing fields in Israel and the world for electric vehicles.
The market for charging stations for electric vehicles in the world is expected to grow significantly in the coming years and reach 207 billion dollars by 2030.
The electricity energy economy in Israel is about 160 TWH (watts per hour) per year, of which the electric company produces about 36%, i.e. about 55 TWH per year, while the energy economy for transportation is 43% of the total energy economy, i.e. about 70 TWH per year.
In view of the fact that the electric company will not be able to double the energy sector in the coming years to supply electricity to hundreds of thousands of electric vehicles in Israel, the solution is hydrogen-based hybrid charging stations for electric vehicles (without connection to the electric grid).
Already today there are 30,000 electric vehicles in Israel. This year, another 30,000-50,000 electric vehicles will enter the market, and it is expected that in the coming years, approximately 150,000 new electric vehicles will enter the market every year.
