The Central Bureau of Statistics released the requested amount of new dwellings in the first quarter of 2022.
According to the CBS, in the first quarter of 2022 the requested quantity of new dwellings was about 18,850 dwellings, of which about 13,890 new dwellings were sold. In percentage terms, this is 73.7% of the requested quantity, a fairly high figure, but still indicates a shortage of dwellings.
The CBS data also show that about a quarter of all new apartments sold are concentrated in cities: Tel Aviv-Yafo, Rishon Lezion, Jerusalem and Ashkelon.
The localities in which more than 700 apartments were sold in the first quarter of 2022 are: Tel Aviv-Yafo (961), Rishon Lezion (812), Jerusalem (739), Ashkelon (719) and Beit Shemesh (709).
At the top of the list of localities where there was an increase in the sale of new apartments in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the fourth quarter of 2021 are Mevaseret Zion, Beit Shemesh, Beer Sheva, Rishon Lezion, Rosh HaAyin and Holon.
The main localities in which there was a decrease in the sale of new apartments in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the fourth quarter of 2021 are: Beer Yaakov, Kiryat Ono, Netivot, Givat Shmuel, Raanana and Ramat Gan.
In the central area, there is a demand for 4,431 apartments, of which only 3,630 apartments were provided. Immediately after the central area, Israelis want to live in Tel Aviv (which is counted separately from the center), where there is a demand for 3,927 apartments, when in practice only 3,212 apartments were sold.
In the Southern District there is a demand of 3,170 apartments, but only 2,426 apartments were sold, while in Jerusalem there is a demand of 2,339 apartments, while in practice only 1,812 apartments were sold.
The Judea and Samaria area closes the table with a demand of 598 apartments, of which 404 apartments were sold, perhaps after the approval of the IDF, there will be a change in the quantities there.
