State Attorney's Office filed a defamation suit against a private citizen in the name of Dr. Sharon Alroi-Price

In an unusual move, the State Attorney's Office filed a defamation suit against a private citizen in the name of Dr. Sharon Alroi-Price, Director of Public Health Services in the Tel Aviv Magistrate's Court. Posts she has posted in recent months on Facebook and Twitter and post apologies for them.
According to the lawsuit, filed by Adv. Dikla Balalti of the Tel Aviv District Attorney's Office, Barak-Tamir published false publications on social media about the head of public health services and her family, including countless mentions that her minor son was unvaccinated and that all her children fell ill in Corona. Are incorrect and are intended to incite the public against vaccines against the corona plague.
According to the Ministry of Justice, the publications were intended to "adversely affect its function (of Alroi-Price), to harm her occupation and professionalism in order to undermine public confidence in the ministry's professional guidelines during an epidemic", by "intentionally harming the plaintiff's good name and professionalism as head of public health".
The ministry emphasizes that "there is no dispute that criticism of civil servants is legitimate, and even essential, for the proper functioning of government authorities, including criticism of vaccine activity, even if it is not always restrained and polite - but a personal and false attack on a public servant and his family is cross. A border that cannot be crossed on the agenda. "
Barak-Tamir calls the lawsuit a "silence lawsuit" - a claim supported by the emphasis in the lawsuit that usually the Ministry of Justice does not file defamation lawsuits on behalf of public employees, but lets them do it alone if they wish. According to Barak-Tamir, this is a cynical exploitation of the system by Elrai-Price in an attempt to silence her and the lawsuits she filed against the Ministry of Health, which published personal posts against her on social media, as well as the many petitions she filed under the Freedom of Information Act. Health vis-à-vis Pfizer with regard to vaccines and their coercion on Israeli citizens even before they have received official approvals from international bodies.
"She wants to silence me - but she magnified my voice, just the way I wanted. I thank her for that," Barak-Tamir told Ice, adding that she was not afraid of the lawsuit, even though unlike Arlei-Price who places her legal expenses on The state, it will have to take money out of its pocket - but it is confident that its many supporters will help it cover for these economic damages.
The State Attorney's Office responded: "The lawsuit was filed on behalf of a state employee, and not on behalf of one of the elected officials, which the state does not represent. Therefore, the comparison is incorrect and irrelevant. .
