IAI and Boeing have signed a new memorandum of understanding worth billions of shekels

Posted on Nov 28, 2018 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

IAI and Boeing have signed a new memorandum of understanding that will strengthen business ties and deepen cooperation between companies in the fields of civil and military aviation.
According to the agreement, Boeing will transfer to IAI a work volume estimated at billions of shekels based on future sales of Boeing systems to the IDF. These are modern refueling planes, fighter planes, helicopters and more.
"IAI Chairman Harel Locker said," The new memorandum of understanding will strengthen and deepen the existing cooperation between the two companies in Israel and around the world. "
The memorandum of understanding reflects Boeing's commitment to the State of Israel and its activities here. The Israeli Air Force is considering the purchase of Boeing's leading systems, which could reach $ 10 billion, including fighter planes, helicopters and refueling planes. If Boeing succeeds in this, the volume of its orders from IAI could reach billions of shekels.
IAI and the State of Israel have been cooperating for decades with Boeing in developing and manufacturing the Arrow system, manufacturing parts for civilian aircraft, and a wide range of service activities. This partnership will now continue on a broader and deeper basis.
Harel Locker, IAI's Chairman, said: "IAI has for many years been a strategic partner in many fields, military and civilian. The memorandum of understanding signed last week will strengthen and further deepen the existing cooperation between the two companies in Israel and around the world in many different fields. I thank the Defense Ministry for the assistance in reaching this agreement with Boeing. "
Regardless of the new understandings agreement, IAI and Boeing already have industrial cooperation around a number of programs, mainly the joint development and production of the Arrow 3 ballistic missile defense system. IAI is subcontracting Boeing for civilian aircraft parts: We see Boeing as a strategic partner for decades.
