The Craft and Small scale Industry Association reports a 50% drop in revenue

The Craft and Small scale Industry Association reports a 50% drop in revenue amid the fear of being cared for by a person close to the customer, an increase in isolations and cancellations.

On Wednesday, a drastic 50% drop in revenue in the field of hairstyling and cosmetics was reported due to the fear of being treated by a person close to the client, an increase in isolations, and cancellations of treatments that have already been determined. "Unfortunately, it is not possible to work remotely with us," said the Craft and Small Industry Association.
Small business owners in the field of personal care - hairstyling, cosmetics, and permanent makeup - report a significant decrease in business activity estimated at a daily loss of income of NIS 7.93 million per day in all beauty and personal care industries, many cancellations and isolations. This time, in contrast to previous morbidity peaks - there is no compensation on behalf of the state - neither a decrease in business activity nor compensation for days of isolation or closure of the business.
The association noted that although about two months ago the government announced that an outline would be formulated to fund absences due to the days of isolation for the self-employed as well - nothing happened, and thousands of self-employed and small business owners were left unanswered. "This decision took effect even before the previous wave broke out but since then nothing has happened and the self-employed have been left behind."
Despite the promises, the Knesset has not yet approved the outline for compensating the self-employed for days of isolation in which they are forced to stay. The Ministry of Finance stated that the approval should come from the Labor and Welfare Committee and that primary legislation is also required. This situation discriminates against the self-employed who, unlike the working public, continue not to be compensated for the days of isolation.
The compensation for the self-employed is given according to the outline agreed only by the state, since the self-employed have no employers to share the compensation with. It will be only NIS 430 per week. In a conversation with Ynet, the president of the independent organizations, Adv. Roi Cohen, called the compensation "an unfunny joke, a real mockery of Rash." However, even this low compensation has not yet been approved by the Knesset.
According to Yair Kamir, chairman of the Hair Stylists' Association of the Craft and Industry Association and owner of two hairdressers in Petah Tikva: "There is no work. People cancel appointments. People go into isolation because of the kids. People, especially adults, are afraid to leave the house. It's hard to believe how the state is abandoning us. At least in previous closures there was compensation, now we are left to our own devices. We can not work from home. We do not have a zoom. The government needs to recover before we take to the streets. "
Yossi Alkobi, president of the Craft and Industry Association: "85% of business owners in Israel are small businesses and have no answer for paying for days of isolation and sick days. .Tweeting on Twitter and making useless statements does not bring the small business owner to the point where at the end of the month he can be with his head above water - he needs practical and effective results that will not eliminate him financially. You pledged two full months, what happened since? "It's time for you to wake up. Instead of holding press conferences, start working and justifying the imaginary sums of money you receive as part of your constant inflating."
