Following the transfer of IMI's control permit to Elbit, IMI Systems CEO Avi Felder announced his decision to terminate his employment at the company after 36 years of work, of which he served 13 years as CEO. Felder updated the decision by Bezalel Michailis, president of Elbit Systems; Chairman of the Board of Directors of IMI, Yitzhak Aharonovitch, and Ministry of Defense Director-General Udi Adam.
Last week, Minister of Defense and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gave Elbit Systems control over IMI and removed the last significant obstacle to the merger between the two companies. Now only the closing process between Elbit and the Companies Authority remains - and the merger will begin. IMI is expected to be largely assimilated into Elbit's land division.
Felder began his career at IMI 36 years ago as a young engineer, and worked in a variety of positions in engineering, production and management in the company, where he served as CEO of the company for the past 13 years, under which he managed to finish 2017 without loss. A profit of NIS 12 million, which came after years of losses.
