Partner Communications Completes Nationwide Upgrade to Private 5G Network

Posted on Jul 2, 2025 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski

Partner Communications Group has become the first telecommunications company in Israel to transition all of its mobile customers to the core of a Private 5G network, marking a major milestone in the country’s mobile infrastructure.

The upgrade, carried out over the past year in collaboration with Ericsson, involved a tens of millions shekel investment and now places Partner among a select group of international telecom leaders such as T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon, and Vodafone that have implemented full-scale private 5G networks.

15% Improvement in Call Stability

According to Partner, the network transition has already yielded tangible benefits:

  • 15% improvement in call stability and continuity

  • Significant reduction in customer service calls

  • Enhanced security, encryption, and network capacity

Customers across all service tiers now experience improved voice and video call quality, while those on 5G packages enjoy faster browsing speeds and better performance during peak usage times.

Launch of Standalone 5G Brings Advanced Capabilities

Simultaneously, Partner has completed testing and officially launched Standalone 5G (SA) technology across its infrastructure, unlocking two game-changing features:

  • Network Slicing – Allows for the creation of customized, dedicated network segments for specific clients or services (e.g. hospitals, emergency responders, smart factories), ensuring priority access and optimal performance.

  • Low Latency – Enables ultra-fast response times crucial for applications like online gaming, remote surgeries, real-time logistics, autonomous vehicles, and industrial automation.

These developments pave the way for enhanced capabilities for businesses, municipalities, and industrial sectors throughout Israel.

"A New, More Secure Era for Mobile Customers"

“Partner's mobile customers are entering a new, more advanced and secure era today,” said Yigal Giladi, VP of Engineering at Partner. “The new network provides a significantly improved service experience, reflected in fewer calls to support centers and higher customer satisfaction.”

The full transition was conducted automatically and at no additional cost to customers, showcasing Partner’s commitment to innovation and digital transformation.
