IAI signed an agreement to establish a Boeing 767-300 aircraft conversion center with Ethiopian Airlines

Posted on Aug 20, 2021 by Ifi Reporter

IAI's Aviation Division has signed an agreement to establish a Boeing 767-300 aircraft conversion center with Ethiopian Airlines. The new center, which will operate in the company's maintenance center in Addis Ababa, will provide a solution to the increase in demand for cargo aircraft of this model. The conversion line in Ethiopia will join the IAI lines operating on the company's Ben Gurion Airport campus as well as the conversion site in Mexico.
Ethiopian Airlines is a long-standing and leading airline, and the maintenance center in question is the largest and most advanced in Africa approved by the Ethiopian Civil Aviation Authority, the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and EASA (European Aviation Safety Agency). At the conversion center, aircraft will be converted from a passenger configuration to a cargo configuration, as well as maintenance and aircraft overhaul services.
IAI's VP of Aviation and Director of the Aviation Division, Yossi Melamed: To meet the challenging task, we are developing additional conversion sites around the world. The choice of Ethiopian Airlines reflects an impressive ability in the field of aircraft maintenance, both in terms of the strong desire to develop towards the conversion of passenger aircraft to cargo and of course in the ability to serve as a reliable long-term conversion site. I congratulate the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines for his decision to cooperate with the CEO of Ethiopian Airlines, Twold Gabramriam: “We are expanding our capabilities in providing the infrastructure to cargo aircraft fleets according to our plan by 2025. Accordingly, our member, IAI, is one One of the leading defense and aerospace companies in the world, in the field of aircraft conversion at our maintenance center in Addis Ababa. Upgrades our maintenance and conversion capabilities, and makes it good in the area. "
IAI Aviation Division, Israel Airport, consolidates under it all operations in manned aircraft: maintenance (MRO), executive aircraft, conversion of passenger aircraft to cargo, aerospace assemblies and structures, aircraft improvements and more. With accumulated knowledge and experience in the field of aviation over its almost 70 years of existence, and thanks to excellent human capital and breakthrough technologies, the division is in line with the leading companies in the world of aviation. Its customers include the largest companies in the world, including Amazon, DHL, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Gulf Stream and more.
IAI, and expects the collaborations between the companies to develop into other areas as well. "
