Delta Galil closes its last production line in Israel
Posted on Oct 17, 2018 by Ifi Reporter - Dan Bielski
The competition against cheap production lines in the East brings Delta Galil to close its last production line in Israel, located at the site of the legendary plant in Karmiel. The fashion manufacturer, controlled by Isaac Dabah, will close the socks factory by the end of the fourth quarter of 2018, theMarker has learned. As a result, 80-70 employees will be dismissed. This is a loss factory, whose activity has faded over the years. The production line in Carmiel, which accounts for 0.5% of Delta's production, was founded in 1975 by founder Dov Lautman and two other investors. In the heyday of Delta, the activity in Carmiel produced 400 tons of fabric a month - but it gradually declined, as more production lines were transferred abroad.
