State Attorney Amit Isman decided: retrial of Roman Zadorov, who was convicted of the murder of the girl Tair Rada

State Attorney Amit Isman decided today (Wednesday) to hold a retrial of Roman Zadorov, who was convicted of the murder of the girl Tair Rada, and estimated that there is a reasonable chance of conviction. The trial will take place before a new panel of judges of the Nazareth District Court, which has not dealt with the case before. Meanwhile, the prosecutor announced his decision to shelve the case opened in the case of Ola Kravchenko (AK) out of innocence, and a notice to that effect was given to her lawyers. House in restrictive conditions.
According to the prosecution, "after examining the matter and after discussions in his office, the state attorney decided to adopt the position that there is a reasonable chance of convicting Zadorov of the murder of Tair Rada, and that there is a real public interest in conducting his trial again." Since the establishment of the state, only 34 retrials have been approved, including that of Zadorov, many of whom have dealt with non-serious criminal offenses.
About two months ago, former Supreme Court Vice President Justice Hanan Meltzer accepted Zadorov's request to reconsider his conviction for Rada's murder. Meltzer stated that the evidence presented to him had real potential to change the outcome of the trial, and ordered the prosecution to reconsider them to decide whether it wanted to conduct the retrial against Zadorov or withdraw from the charge against him.
The main evidence on which Meltzer's decision was based is the opinion regarding a shoe heel that was found at the murder scene with Rada's blood on it, and which does not belong to Zadorov. The prosecution argued throughout the trial that the trace was stamped by an "anonymous rescuer" who arrived at the scene after the body was discovered. However, according to the opinion presented by Zadorov, it is not possible for blood to leak from her body about five hours after the murder - and this means that the trace was imprinted at the time of the murder or near it. A waiter explained that there was a possibility that the killer, or one of the perpetrators of the murder, had drowned the heel of the shoe found on the toilet lid near the murder, and then leaked Rada's blood on it.
