Tus Airways, the Cypriot airline, has announced an expansion of its flight routes in Israel in anticipation of the upcoming Sukkot holiday. Starting today, the airline will introduce a daily flight to Budapest, Hungary, three weekly flights to Sofia, Bulgaria, and Vienna, Austria, as well as two daily flights to Kater and Athens, Greece. Additionally, a third flight to Larnaca, Cyprus, will also be added.
In a further development, Uzbek Centrum Air will commence bi-weekly flights from Tel Aviv to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, beginning October 30. Since the start of the year, around 40,000 Israelis have traveled to Tashkent, highlighting the growing interest in this route.
Commitment to Operations Amid Challenges
Despite ongoing regional conflicts, Tus Airways has maintained its operations in Israel. The airline is owned by Vacation Lines, an Israeli tourism wholesaler, which stated that the increased availability of seats on popular routes will foster competition and potentially lower ticket prices. To accommodate the expanded flight schedule, Tus Airways will operate five aircraft.
Terminal Changes at Ben Gurion Airport
Meanwhile, the Airports Authority has announced that Terminal 1 at Ben Gurion Airport will be closed to international operations starting tomorrow, October 16, at 2:30 p.m. This closure will last until early Sunday morning, October 20, at 2:00 a.m. All international flights will now be operated from Terminal 3, while domestic flights will continue as scheduled from Terminal 1. Travelers are advised to stay updated on flight schedules.
Israir Reinforces Flight Schedule
In response to ongoing flight cancellations by foreign airlines, Israir announced it will deploy an additional backup aircraft starting this Friday. The airline plans to operate a total of 13 narrow-body aircraft for the remainder of October to meet increased demand.
As the holiday approaches, the expansion of flight options is expected to enhance travel experiences for passengers in Israel.
