Elbit Systems has won a $ 80 million contract from an Asia-Pacific state to supply SPECTRO XR multifectral electro-optical systems for naval forces.
Elbit Systems won the deal after winning a tender for the Canadian company Wescam, which is controlled by L3Harris, and the French companies Sagem from the Safran group and the American company Teledyne Flir. The contract will be executed over a period of four years.
As part of the contract, Elbit Systems - managed by Bezalel Machlis - will provide SPECTRO XR systems that will be integrated on marine vessels. SPECTRO XR is a long-range multi-spectral electro-optical system that provides naval, air and ground forces with advanced capabilities of intelligence, tracking, gathering and acquiring targets day and night and in conditions of poor vision such as fog, humidity, smoke, haze and dust.
SPECTRO XR, with the help of artificial intelligence, performs video tracking on multiple targets, motion detection of targets and video motion detection to conduct a continuous scan to extract operational insights and reduce human errors. The system's relative advantages are many tens of kilometers of range, the ability to overcome humidity and dust conditions typical of certain countries in the Asia-Pacific, and the ability to simultaneously track multiple targets according to predefined parameters.
