Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) and Start-Up Spectacles signed an agreement for technological and financial cooperation. Pursuant to the agreement, Effective Space will order a fleet of SPACE DRONE satellites from IAI, which will be used as part of the ambitious program to extend the time span of satellite communications satellites.
At the same time, IAI intends to invest in the intriguing start-up, and has already initiated procedures to obtain approvals from various entities, including the Government Companies Authority. This is, inter alia, being a government company. IAI is refusing to specify the scope of the investment it plans in ActiveSpace.
Effective Space is engaged in the development of a unique service to extend the time span of satellite communications satellites. Today, the life expectancy of such a satellite is about 15 years on average. The use of satellite communication ends when its fuel tank is depleted and can no longer be located at the points from which it transmits to Earth, even though its systems can still operate and provide good quality services.
