The average wage of Israelis in June amounted to NIS 10,884

The average wage of Israelis in June was NIS 10,884. According to the Central Bureau of Statistics. The data reflect the upward trend in the average wage in recent months and the strong state of the labor market.
The increase in the average wage is evident both in current prices and in constant prices. In April-June 2018, the average wage per employee post rose by an annual rate of 3.5%, following an annual increase of 4.8% in January-March 2018.
In Israel there are close to 3.7 million jobs of employees. Two-thirds of all jobs are in economic industries in which the average wage is lower than the average wage in the economy. These include hotels and restaurants (NIS 4,743), entertainment and leisure (NIS 6,217), health and welfare services (NIS 10,2017) and education (NIS 10,277).
The industry in which the average wage is the highest is information and communications, which includes jobs in the content and production field and most high-tech occupations: NIS 19,943 a month. In the government sector, the average wage was NIS 13,313 a month.
