Canadian trade minister has upgraded the trade agreement with Israel

Minister of Economy Eli Cohen met with Canadian Trade Minister Jim Carr during his visit to Israel, a visit designed to recognize Israeli industry. This is the first meeting of the two ministers.
Jim Carr is a Canadian Jew who entered politics in 1986. He came to Israel at the head of a business delegation. The trade agreement between Canada and Israel has recently been upgraded and updated chapters on modern trade issues such as e-commerce and trade between small and medium-sized companies have been added.
Canada is a significant trading partner and trade volume between the two countries is NIS 1.03 billion. Last year, Israel's exports to Canada totaled NIS 659 million.
In the first half of the year exports to Canada totaled NIS 492 million, an increase of 61% compared to the first half of the previous year. Imports from Canada in the first half totaled NIS 159 million.
